The internet, the web and electronic commerce

Javascript
Javascript is a programming language that is used to make web pages interactive. It runs on your visitor's computer and so does not require constant downloads from your web site

Applets

An applet is a program written in the Java programming language that can be included in an HTML page, much in the same way an image is included in a page. When you use a Java technology-enabled browser to view a page that contains an applet, the applet's code is transferred to your system and executed by the browser's Java Virtual Machine (JVM).

Wiki
Wiki is a piece of server software that allows users to freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser. Wiki supports hyperlinks and has a simple text syntax for creating new pages and crosslinks between internal pages on the fly.

FTP
A means of moving files directly from the server to the local hard-drive. For example, when a Blizzard designer creates a new web site design, a copy of that design is saved on our local server. Once the site is approved, it is uploaded to a web server for viewing on the Internet, using FTP.

Plug - Ins
A program that adds a specific feature to a user's browser so it is able to play/view certain files. Examples: Flash, Shockwave. Small, supplemental programs that can be downloaded free of charge from the Internet.

Filters
A filter is a computer program to process a data stream. Some operating systems such as Unix are rich with filter programs.

 Internet Security
Internet security is a branch of computer security specifically related to the Internet.
